Turbo.264 HD Video Converter App Reviews

If you are looking to convert AVCHD (Sony) for iMovie - This is it !

I use a Sony SR5E hdd camera. Direct import from the camera into iMovie not a problem, however movies taken from the camera are converted to mts format and are not usable in iMovie. I have tested arround 10 conversion programs to do this, keeping HD quality output, and Turbo.264 was the only one being able to do this fast, clean, easy. If you need something to be converted from one format to the other, without visible loss of quality, this is it!

Great program for converting files for iTunes

I have been using this program for about 2 months now and I love it. I use it mainly to convert differnt type of video files so that it will appear in my iTunes library so I can watch them on AppleTV. The conversion is much faster than some of the other software I have used in the past. Highly recommend if you are looking for software to convert your video files into iTunes.

DONT BUY!!!

Ive used this program a few times, it either doesnt convert the audio, or it scrambles it.. WASTE OF MONEY!! I purchased this thinking that it would be better then the FREE video converters, but its not.. there should be a return option becaue this program is useless.

It does what it says it does but...

The Program does as advertised; thats converting video formats to playable apple formats for ipod/phone/atv and so on. But seriously lacks subtitle support for mkv files. and im sure for other formats aswell. if it could do that with a few fixes here and there it would be an absolute converting program and would be recommended.

stay away from this ...

I have tried converting 10 movies so far a mixture of avi, mkv and m4v files. Only 2 out of the 10 actually came out ok. Video quality is OK, however the audio track gets completly messed up or is non existed. I have tried switching off the automatic modes to try a few different things, but to no avail ... when you pay $50 for software you hope it would work better then freeware. Such a crap product ... stay away until they fix it ... or just use the free stuff because this is NOT worth the $50 I got charged. Very very disapointed.

Great Converter!

Allowed me to convert a bunch of older movies from the horrible .avi format into something QuickTIme could play. Has allowed me to uninstall Flip4Mac and VLC player as its much more convient to just convert the movie and watch through the native QuickTime Player. Highly Recommend.

Do not buy

Do not buy this software. It will not work with mkv files.

Excellent program!

Simply excellent software. I tried several converters and non worked properly with my collection of old VOB files from DVD video camera times. Some of the VOB files were screwed up a bit (wrong indexing or smth) and all the programs were showing the length of the video incorrectly - only few seconds or smth. This one never had an issue - works super fast and correctly! It is worth the money spent!

Great!

thiss the program that works!

Save in iTunes stopped working

After update save in iTunes stopped working: video saved in the source directory, while save to iTunes option is selected.

This Is Good. But WHY Does IT Demands ME To Update?

It keeps its promises and really does the work. But I am upset by its incessant demands to make an update! Lets everybody does ones own work. And this is AppStore teams work to make the updates available, if necessary, and to check the actual behaviour of rather expensive applications.

great application

no problems with audio as one of the reviewers had reported. Simple user interface. easy alternative to imovie Converted a number of .mpg files to H.264 .. no issues

Could Not Be Simpler!

This is by far the most straight line approach to getting those AVCHD files out of your camcorder and on to your Mac! A simple and elegant interface makes this task a breeze.

super easy!

I use this to convert all the videos of my kids from my camera so I can sync them to my iPhone. Great timesaver!

No remux support

I bought this app hoping for an easy to use transcoder/remuxer. The UI is indeed easy to use and the transcoding works great. However there is no support for MKV file remuxing. I have been searching for a OSX application that can replicate the ease of use and speed of mkv2vob for windows and cannot find a suitable program. Considering the cost I think this app should incoroporate this kind of functionality. If it does, this rating moves to 5 stars.

worked great for me

I was worried about what some said about no audio. So I went to the companies website and they have a demo version you can try out. You can only download 2 min off your camera and it watermarks the video. But it works great to test out and the video worked perfectly. So I came back to the app store and bought it. I have a cannon vixia hf20 hd. It records the hd videos in mts. files. All I had to do is plug the camera into the computer and it recognized the camera and uploaded the videos. You make the selection on output and bam!!! it does the work and best of all sends it to itunes. It was simple to use and worked as said. I do have to say $50 is a little high for the program hopefully it will get more features in the furtue that will make it worth it. Now videos of our little ones will be easy to send to our family.

Don´t buy until they fix the sound problem.. useless

Cool interface but problem with sound.. and really expensive converter.

Can Someone help me with sound

Can someone help me with sound?

Impressive

Before the app store, I was always going out on the internet trying to search for a good video tool and boy did this one hit the nail on the head. Glad apple came out with something like to make finding tools so simple! Like others said, most of these tools have demos on their site so try it out before buying it. Only if that demo feature was in the app store itself.

Great Application

Works like a charm.
